多次重复的“进一步”怎么译

在汉英时政翻译中，经常遇到一些具有中国特色的话语表达，如重复性地使用同一语词。“进一步……”就是一个常见的表达，旨在强调实施力度或加强语气。众所周知，英语最忌重复使用同一个词，当一篇文章多次出现“进一步”，需要采取灵活多样的译法，以避免单调重复。
“进一步”，通常译为further。需要注意的是，further既可以作为副词，也可以作为形容词，因此在翻译中可以灵活使用这两种词性，变换表达方式。如以下例子：
We will further improve the transmission mechanism of monetary policy.
严格落实中央八项规定精神，持之以恒纠“四风”，进一步为基层减负。
We strictly complied with the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving work conduct, kept our efforts to tackle pointless formalities, bureaucratism, hedonism and extravagance, and took further steps to ease the burden of those working on the ground.
further做形容词修饰名词，通常还可以使用被动式，如：
Further steps will be taken to regulate and overhaul fees charged by industry associations, chambers of commerce，and intermediaries.
“进一步”根据语义还可以译为“继续/持续……”“努力……”等，如以下例子：
We will continue to reduce various certification requirements and provide more government services on a cross-provincial basis.
努力营造良好融资生态，进一步推动解决实体经济特别是中小微企业融资难题。
We will strive to create a favorable financing environment and help resolve the financing difficulties of enterprises in the real economy, especially MSMEs.
有些动词本身即含有“进一步”的意思，如strengthen，使用这个词时就可以省去“进一步”不译，如：
China's innovation capacity was strengthened.
类似的动词还有enhance，如enhance the ability to，意为“进一步提高……的能力”。
此外，一些形容词的比较级也可表达“进一步”的意思，如“进一步掌握社会主义经济建设规律”，可译为attain a better grasp of the laws governing socialist economic construction.
