the road leads into the window’s depths
the other side of the moon must be very cold
that summer night, a white horse
galloped past with the northern lights
for a long time we trembled
go, you said
don’t let anger destroy us
leaving no way of escape
like entering the mountains of menopause
at many corners we took the wrong turn
but in the desert we met
all the ages gather here
hawks, and long-lived cacti
gather here
more real than heat mirages
as long as one fears birth,
and the smiling faces that do not don their masks in time
then everything is connected with death
that summer night was not the end
