冬天的池沼

　　冬天的池沼，

　　寂寞得像老人的心——

　　饱历了人世的辛酸的心；

　　冬天的池沼，

　　枯干得像老人的眼——

　　被劳苦磨失了光辉的眼；

　　冬天的池沼，

　　荒芜得像老人的发——

　　像霜草般稀疏而又灰白的发；

　　冬天的池沼，

　　阴郁得像一个悲哀的老人——

　　佝偻在阴郁的天幕下的老人。

　　Winter pond,

　　Lonely, like an old man’s heart—

　　A heart that has known too much the bitterness in the world,

　　Winter pond,

　　Dried up, like an old man’s eyes—

　　Eyes with their luster rubbed dim by toil.

　　Winter pond,

　　Wasted, like an old man’s hair—

　　Hair of ashen color, as sparse as winter grass.

　　Winter pond,

　　Somber, like a grieved old man—

　　An old man bent over beneath the gloom of the sky.
