In T-Win's translation work, the number of words calculated normally refers to the number of Chinese characters. This can be counted in two ways: use word count in MS Word or add up the characters of all pages. The first method is used for all MS Word files. The actual number of Chinese characters is the Number of Characters (not including spaces) under Word Count in the Tools button in Microsoft Word. All documents or the final part thereof with less than one thousand Chinese characters will be counted as having one thousand characters. The second method is used when electronic files do not exist. It is done like this. First, the number of characters in one full line is counted. Then it is multiplied by the total lines and you get the total number of characters. Titles, sub-titles and lines that are not full are counted as full lines. (See “Specification for Translation Service”(GB/T 19363.1-2003)—national standard of the People's Republic of China for reference). |

The production efficiency for document translation is 2500-3000 Chinese characters per person each day with a maximum of 5000 Chinese characters for some particular project. For requirements exceeding the above production efficiency, an additional fee of 50-100% of the translation cost will be charged. |

According to the terms of payment in the contract or confirmation sheet, a down payment should be paid before the beginning of translation while the final payment should be paid within 30 days after the delivery of the translation. As for interpretation, however, the full amount should be paid in advance. The payment could be effected in cash, check, transfer, telegraphic transfer(TT), and postal remittance. Acceptable currencies are RMB, HKD, USD and EURO. |
