Ode to Beijing
The capital looks south with pride;
Han and Hun lords would here abide.
Heaven blessed Yan State and the Brine
See saints come to the east for wine.
Ode to the Imperial Palace
Having been there, fall or rise,
It's dazzled all aliens’eyes.
Three Halls with all splendors sheen;
Six Courts stand beneath pines green.
Fowls and beasts on th' roofs appear;
Eaves to eaves, beams to beams leer.
Now where are the lords and kings?
Near the wall a cricket sings
Ode to the Great Wall
With pride he swept Six States all,
But Huns stayed beyond the wall.
Built with rock, bricks, clay and bones
It's thwarted all, crowns or thrones.
East at sea it welcomes the sun;
West on deserts it sees camels run.
Great Wall, we must there arrive!
Of our wills who can us deprive?
Ode to Mount Balm
Mount Balm dyes October red;
Red maples with white reeds wed.
These ridges loving, rocks shy;
Those ravines cruel,clouds high.
Thunders can’t heroes cower;
Frost fears Double Ninth Flower!
Butterflies hide now spring's gone;
Swallows please all as fall's on.
Ode to Red Conk Temple
Grace and bliss rise up from Red Conk;
Blooms feel drunk, vines with pines combined.
I stroll by moonlit Wild Geese Lake.
The sky's void! Voider is my mind!
Ode to Spring in Swallow Court
Last night spring heard Swallow cheep:
"Light,light, the moon's now asleep."
Winter gone, new sprouts feel cold;
Spring in, willows sway though old.
No wind can get th' Nameless drunk;
No rain can make th' Art Hill sunk.
Now there seems to be no soul
Save the path zigzags to roll.
Ode to Swallow Court
Willows sway like clothes tailored new,
Their leaves stir up the evening hue.
Wind, blowing, knows water has skin;
Plums, blooming, see winter come in.
