六级英语考试翻译题型解答

闻名于世的丝绸之路是一系列连接东西方的路线。丝绸之路延伸6,000多公里。得名于古代中国的丝绸贸易。丝绸之路上的贸易在中国、南亚、欧洲和中东文明发展中发挥了重要作用。正是通过丝绸之路,中国的造纸、火药、指南针、印刷等四大发明才被引介到世界各地。同样,中国的丝绸、茶叶和瓷器(porcelain)也传遍全球。物质文化的交流是双向的。欧洲也通过丝绸之路出口各种商品和植物,满足中国市场的需要。
先来看看第一句话,"闻名于世"翻译成英文就是"world-renowned","丝绸之路"翻译成英文"Silk Road",所以主语部分的翻译为The world-renowned Silk Road. 一系列...a series of ....
东西方,表达特指含义, The East and the West。连接,connect;路线,route。
整句的翻译就是The world-renowned Silk Road is a series of routes connecting the East and the West.
第二句主要是数字的考查,6000多公里 more than 6,000 kilometers.这里的多就是more than,延伸 extend.整句翻译是It extended more than 6,000 kilometers.
第三句关键是"得名于"这个短语的翻译,be named after....整句:The Silk Road was named after ancient China's silk trade
第四句考察短语"发挥。。。作用"play a role
注意一点的是第三句的结尾和第四句的开始是同一个词,这就要用到定语从句。先行词就是"丝绸之路",因此三四句可以合并后一句:The Silk Road was named after ancient China's silk trade which played an important role in the civilization development of China, South Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
第五句考察强调句。It....that....句型。"四大发明"的翻译,the four great inventions of ancient China。造纸papermaking、火药gunpowder、指南针compass、印刷printing。整句的翻译就是
It was through the Silk Road that papermaking, gunpowder, compass and printing of the four great inventions of ancient China were introduced around the world.
第六句还是考察传统文化的英文表达。同样Similarly,丝绸Chinese silk、茶叶tea和瓷器porcelain
传播spread
整句:Similarly, Chinese silk, tea and porcelain spread all over the world.
最后一句主要最后一个短语,满足....要求....meet the needs of...
Europe also exported various goods and plants through the Silk Road to meet the needs of the Chinese market.
总结:六级翻译其实不难,主要能将句子理解透很容易翻译,避免使用中式英语,一定要用英语的表法法去翻译。
